Expertise honed in the quality automotive market puts us in a very strong position to address a variety of demanding applications in the off-road sectors.  These special vehicle applications include agriculture, construction, cranes, emergency services and security vehicles among many others, and often represent some of the harshest conditions of operation.

Our technologies marry a high degree of robustness with the need to deliver precision operation alongside operation in the harshest of environmental conditions. Agricultural harvesting, military deployment, building sites and heavy load lifting make for some of the extreme engineering challenges TT electronics faces daily.

The new Magnetorque II LC steering sensor combines all of the performance and reliability of the first generation Magnetorque II  in a smaller more cost effect package.  Magnetorque II LC is designed for demanding Electric Power Steering (EPS) systems where high performance and durability are required.  Applications such as rack mount EPS in passengers cars and EPS for ATVs are ideal applications.

The Magnetorque II LC is designed for +/- 5 degree sensing angles.  Other sensing angles are possible via software control.   Rotational life exceeds 10,000,000 cycles do to the unique minimal bearing design.  Operating temperatures from -40C to 125C are possible.

Optimised design reduces field failures caused by surge currents in high-power applications.

TT electronics has introduced the WPRT Series of Wirewound Power Radial Terminal Resistors, qualified to AEC-Q200 and designed to address the specific requirements of high power applications including Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs).

The WPRT Series is constructed from a high purity ceramic rod with force-fit end-caps, over which is wound a wire element. This is then placed within a ceramic case using fireproof insulation cement. As a result, the resistors are totally flameproof under specified temperature and overload conditions.

The unique design has been optimised for its surge performance, making it ideal for electric vehicles and motor drives. Manufactured to the highest tolerance, the WPRT Series also improves assembly, as it fits, perfectly, into automotive protective mouldings.

With the introduction of the WPRT Series, TT electronics now offers the industry’s widest range of ratings and configurations. It can be used in HEV pre-charge and BDU discharge applications, as well as protecting motors from inrush current. Its surge-protection design means it is also suitable for UPS systems.

The range comprises six power ratings; from 10W to 50W, with a maximum of 250W overload withstand for the WPRT50 (50W) range. Availability conforms to E24 standard resistor values.

ABCIRP connector series is derived from the American Mil-C-5015 & VG95234 specifications and is approved to French Rail specification N.F.F. 61030.

The connectors are intermateable and interchangeable with corresponding types, but feature a low fire hazard thermoplastic insulator which is removable for repositioning at an alternative orientation. Contacts are industry standard 'F80' type and are retained in the insulator by means of a unique beryllium copper spring clip. Connector sealing features a stepped wire seal grommet which can remove the need to populate unused cavities with filler plugs. Crimp tooling is industry standard and contacts are inserted and removed using simple hand tools.

    Mechanical features

    • Coupling: Three pin bayonet
    • Polarisation: Shell key, keyway in removable insulator
    • Contact type: Crimp, rear insertion, front release, rear removable, p.c.tail.
    • Contact Arrangements: 7 to 60 contacts

For customer specific power modules of up to 2kW we have a broad range of technologies. This starts with standard PCB and SMD assembly, followed by thick-film substrates with SMD and Chip & Wire technology, and extends up to high power substrate materials based on AlN or Si3N4 ceramic.

Due to space constraints, EMC components can be placed in a second level by fixing them in a plastic frame.

EMC components and connectors are connected by means of resistance welding or wire bonding.

For the connection onto the heat sink or metal housing a special gluing process with layer thicknesses from 60 to 150µ was developed to guarantee the necessary heat dissipation.

    • High temperature technology used in applications up to 165°C
    • Customer specific housing for the integration into the actuator (e.g. directly into the electric motor)
    • Robust technologies for mounting directly onto a combustion engine
    • High density packaging for reduced size and weight
